ICICI Bank Ltd reported first-quarter profit loss of about 25 per cent as its provisions for bad loans more than doubled. Standalone net profit fell to Rs 22.32 billion for its fiscal first quarter to June 30, from Rs 29.76 billion a year earlier.

US economy grows at modest 1.2% in second quarter
The US economy grew more slowly than expected in the second quarter of 2016, rising a modest 1.2%, according to an advance estimate released on Friday by the Commerce Department. The department also revised first-quarter growth estimates for GDP downward to 0.8 per cent from 1.1 per cent.
