Biden-Harris take charge, hope in the air

 

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States Wednesday noon. Seventy-eight-year-old Biden was administered the oath of office by Chief Justice John Roberts at the West Front of the Capitol. 

 

Kamala Harris, 56, was sworn in as the 49th Vice President of the United States by Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Harris makes history as the first female, first Black and first Indian-American vice president of the United States. 

 

Biden and Harris take office amid historic challenges - a raging pandemic, an economy that needs revival, and racial inequality that has divided the United States.
